Your Inside Scoop to the Suits and Styles of the ESPN Monday Night Football Analyst Team

Joe Tessitore – Play by Play Analyst

Joe wore an elegant dark navy suit with a red windowpane over-check in it, and it was styled with a peak lapel. His shirt was a classic navy and white pencil stripe, worn with a red ground woven silk tie that had navy and light blue dots in the pattern and a pocket square that was white with a navy border.

Just in case anyone was wondering, it was strictly by chance that the suit and tie combination that Joe wore this past Monday night happened to feature the color red pretty prominently, the Chief’s primary team color! I guess it didn’t hurt that Joe showed a little love to KC by wearing a red tie!

Booger McFarland – Analyst

Booger wore a sophisticated Oxford grey glen plaid suit with a subtle burgundy window pane over-check in it. His shirt was a strong navy and white stripe, and he wore it with a rich burgundy, navy, and white woven paisley silk tie. Tying the outfit together was a pocket square which was white with a deep pinkish red border.

Booger’s outfit is another great example of how you can mix three different patterns, a plaid, a stripe, and a paisley – to create a harmonious look. Once again, the key is making sure that the patterns are not similar in scale, and that the patterns colors work with the other components.

John Parry – Rules and Officiating Analyst

John wore a classic medium grey sharkskin suit. His shirt was a light blue and white narrow stripe, and he accompanied it with an elegant burgundy ground tie that had a light blue and cream geometric pattern in it. Finally, his pocket square was light blue with a white border.

Unlike Joe and Booger’s outfits that produced quite a bit of contrast, there was very little contrast produced with John’s outfit. This was by design, as Joe and Booger have very different coloring than John. John has light brown hair, is fair-complected, and has blue eyes, which dictates he should wear outfits that are more tonal in nature. This would include suits in warmer shades of blue and grey, and shirts that are medium to light blue with very little white in them. Pink is also a good shirt color for John, as it brings a little bit of the red in his face.
