Your Inside Scoop to the Suits and Styles of the ESPN Monday Night Football Analyst Team
Joe Tessitore – Play by Play Analyst
Joe wore a bluish grey glen plaid suit with a light blue window pane over-check in it. His shirt, a white ground with alternate navy and light blue stripes, and he accompanied it with a woven neat patterned tie predominantly in blue with specks of white and gold. His pocket square was blue with a white border.
Aside from Joe’s ensemble being a sophisticated study in blue, it’s another good example of the of three separate patterns harmonizing together due to scale and variance in strength of design. On a final note I have emphasized that due to Joe’s coloring he will always look his best wearing clothes that produce a lot of contrast. Take note that there was enough white showing in Joe’s shirt to produce the desired contrast against his suit and tie.
Booger McFarland – Analyst
Booger wore a dressy navy suit with a self-herringbone pattern in it, along with a striking multi-blue and white bold plaid shirt. He paired it with a rich aubergine ground tie with a light blue and white neat pattern in it and a blue pocket square with a white border.
When it comes to our clothing choices, I’ve discussed the importance of choosing the right colors and their tonality to help compliment one’s individual skin, eye, and hair color. This is the first step in designing a personal wardrobe that will flatter you. The clothes we wear can also play a big part in developing our public persona to others. Booger is a big man with a big personality and his clothing choices at times should reflect that aspect of him. The pairing of a bold plaid dress shirt with a dressy navy self-herringbone suit, which Booger wore Monday night, communicates this concept perfectly. Where others might not get away with wearing this combination, on Booger it looked fantastic and completely expected.
John Parry – Rules and Officiating Analyst
John wore a medium grey suit that had a light tan and gold deco-stripe in it. His shirt was a taupe and white Bengal stripe that was accompanied with a medium blue ground tie that had a light brown and tan foulard pattern in it and a pocket square – light brown with a white border.
Every component in John’s outfit perfectly complimented his hair, eye, and skin color. His hair is essentially the same color as the stripes in his suit, shirt, and the foulard print in his tie. And the medium blue ground color of his tie brings out the blue in his eyes. Also, note how the narrow Bengal stripes in his shirt don’t conflict with the wider stripes in his suit. Just another example of scale being the key to putting patterns together successfully.
